Stonycroft Hills Club is pleased to announce that our course renovation was completed in 2025 under the design of Chris Wilczynski, C.W. Golf Architecture. The extensive renovation included tee alignments, green and fairway expansions, bunker additions, one newly designed green, as well as a redesigned practice green. Our course has been transformed and will offer our members an extraordinary golf experience in 2026 and for years to come.

We invite you to join us for outstanding golf and Stonycroft traditions. Stonycroft has been a member owned private club since 1960. We are nestled in the heart of Bloomfield Hills, where you can walk the hills, drive the rolling fairways and putt on the plush greens.     Stonycroft Hills Club is a member-owned and operated private golf club located in the heart of Bloomfield Hills. As an equity-based membership club, Stonycroft is managed by a Board of Directors, facilities management and volunteer committee chairpersons.   • History

    Stonycroft Origins

    In 1928, Theodore McManus, a local advertising executive and golf enthusiast, designed and built his own golf course on his land. Mr. McManus later donated a portion of this property to create Saint Hugo of the Hills church which was named in memory of his son, Hugo, who died at a young age. A few years later, he leased the golf course to Martin who gave it public access.

    In the early 1950s, Inez Geitz assumed lease of the property from John McManus, Ted's son, and eventually purchased the property for $75,000. She married Don D'Onofrio, an assistant pro at the Country Club of Detroit. They continued to run it as a public course until 1958 when they made it private.
